Welcome to our Welsh second language page.
At Glan Usk, our KS2 pupils follow the ‘Antur Anhygoel’ Schemes. These are based on the ‘Pod Antur’ resources developed by Tinopolis. Pupils are given opportunities to converse in Welsh through a range of real life, engaging activities. In Year 3 the main characters are Crad and Ffion. Year 4 have Izzy and Dyfs as the main characters and in Years 5 and 6 are Tom and Beca.
At Glan Usk, our youngest learners follow the Welsh scheme called ‘Fflic a Fflac’ in Foundation Phase. The scheme is based on two characters called Fflic and Fflac, they have many exciting adventures in the cwtsh 'Yn y Cwtsh'. Puppets are in each learning environment and they are used to engage children in their learning.
We try to use as much Welsh as possible as part of the school day. Here are some of the phrases we regularly use during each day.
