About Us / Amdanom ni
Glan Usk Primary School was created from both Durham Road Junior and Infant Schools and they amalgamated in September 2008, it extended its age range by including the very successful Rockfield Nursery and we now have almost 700 pupils coming through our gates each day. The current school building opened in January 2010.

Our school, has been built on a successful past; from a time when ‘knowledge was power’ to a present and future where children are ‘empowered’ to think for themselves, to become more independent, to lead their own learning, to make informed choices and above all to become happy and health young people.

The whole community, children, staff, parents and governors have been involved in shaping our school. We all share the same mission and vision, we believe that every child should be excited and challenged by a relevant curriculum and empowered to achieve their goals. With the right support and encouragement from our hard working and talented staff, our supportive parents and governors working together, we will enable our young children to succeed.

I am incredibly proud to be the headteacher of this highly performing, innovative and forward thinking school.
