GUPS Senedd

At Glan Usk Primary School, our GUPS Senedd plays a vital role in shaping and driving our school forward, ensuring that pupil voice is heard and valued (Article 12 – Right to be heard). The Senedd is made up of dedicated pupil groups, each championing an important area of school life.

Our Rights Ambassadors promote and protect children’s rights (Article 42 – Knowledge of rights), while Heddlu Bach helps to keep our school safe and respectful (Article 19 – Protection from harm and violence). The Eco Warriors focus on sustainability and caring for our planet (Article 29 – Goals of education, including respect for the environment), and our Healthy Heroes encourage positive physical and mental wellbeing (Article 24 – Right to health and nutritious food). The Peace Ambassadors promote kindness and conflict resolution (Article 31 – Right to relax and play), while Playground Pals support friendships and inclusive play (Article 15 – Right to meet with friends and join groups). Our Criw Cymraeg nurtures pride in the Welsh language and culture (Article 30 – Right to use your own language and culture), and our Digital Citizens help ensure that pupils are safe and responsible online (Article 17 – Access to reliable information).

The Senedd is overseen by our First and Deputy Ministers, who work closely with Headteacher Mrs. Roberts to lead initiatives and represent pupil voice at the highest level.

Together, they ensure that Glan Usk Primary is a place where every child’s rights are respected, protected, and championed.
