Our Autumn Term topic

Year 4 Topic - Freedom

We have had a lovely couple of weeks back in school. The children have settled in fantastically well, we are very proud of them. We have been busy in class. The children have been coming up with some excellent ideas for our new topic ‘Freedom.’

In LLC we have read the text ‘The Boy the Mole The Fox and The horse.’ The children enjoyed listening to the story and discussing their thoughts.

In SHINE we have used the story as a stimulus to create line drawings of the animals in the style of the illustrator Charlie Mackesy.

In maths we have been looking at Place Value, working on reading, writing, ordering and partitioning numbers. We have been exploring addition and subtraction using the line and compact method.
