Mission Statement & Vision Principles
Our Aims
At Glan Usk Primary School, our aims are closely aligned with the four purposes of the Curriculum for Wales, ensuring every child develops the skills, knowledge and confidence to thrive now and in the future. We strive to help children become:
- Ambitious, capable learners – ready to learn throughout their lives.
- Enterprising, creative contributors – ready to play a full part in life and work.
- Ethical, informed citizens – of Wales and the wider world.
- Healthy, confident individuals – ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
Through these aims, we ensure that children are at the heart of everything we do, enjoying their learning, growing in confidence, and developing the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
Our Values:
Our school values reflect what we believe is important and guide the way we learn, behave and work together every day.
Kindness – We encourage children to be caring and considerate to everyone in our school community.
Friendship – We value building strong, supportive relationships and learning to work and play well together.
Honesty – We help children understand the importance of telling the truth and being fair in all they do.
Being Yourself – We celebrate individuality, diversity, and encourage children to feel confident in who they are.
Peace – We promote harmony, helping children resolve conflicts calmly and create a positive environment for everyone.
Fairness – We teach children to treat others equally, respect differences, follow rules, and understand the importance of justice.
